When I was growing up fashion magazines such as Vogue and Harper's Bazaar were my fast track ticket to world of fantasy, the places I would like to visit and an escape from everyday life. Music, books, people around me and the work of other artists and photographers inspire my photographic work. I compose my images very carefully in order to share stories from my own experience.

My photography is colourful and every story I create is a dream-like representation of real life. I use medium format film camera in the knowledge that I have only 12 frames per roll of film. This has helped me understand the importance of the quality and composition.

This current project is inspired by the editorial work of great fashion photographers such David Bailey and Richard Avedon combined with conceptual photographers Thomas Ruff and Jeff Wall.

‘i ‘ is a story based round the idea of identity - finding yourself, growing up and pursuing your dreams. It is a series of 5 photos in which the clothing changes to illustrate the stages of growing up, from teenager to an adult. I collaborated with a great fashion designer to create the clothing appropriate to each image, in some ways the project is theatre and at the same time a fashion image. The pink balloon is like a childhood memory, which we all carry inside us throughout the life.

I believe that fashion photography allows us to look at world differently, and can inspire changes in our life. My work shares a personal story but also one that may be familiar to others.

EMPIRE EXCHANGE- WE BUY, WE SELL, WE TRADE.

We live in a fast moving society, obsessed by the idea of having the newest gadgets, designer hand bags, smart phones and we hope that all of this stuff will make our lives better.... We don't read books, we have Kindle. We don't play records any more, nor buy CDs, we have iTunes. My last VHS tape was my 1992 Holy Communion, now we have DVDs.

They say that one person's trash is another person's treasure and Empire Exchange is the place where you can find all that old and unwanted stuff. Everything there is a real piece of our history. Hoping that they won't be forgotten I decided to create a series of 5 colour, real life fantasy images.

The photos were taken with my medium format camera and colour negative film (there's something about that square format), scanned and digitally edited. With this body of work I tried to create a story which is not obvious at first. I want you to look beyond the model and her clothes and think about all of the memories you have of reading a comic book, or watching your big sister playing Tina Turner on vinyl, because they are both Simply the Best.

Here's what happened when I went to what is known as a junk shop with a group of my dear friends and played around.

Enjoy!

WE ARE PHOTOGRAHERS!

We Are Photographers!

We dedicate our lives to art and photography. Our job is to capture the ordinary and reveal the special moments. We grab a second in life or a fleeting moment of design just to make it lasting. We bring past to present and moments to lasting impressions.

We are the visual writers, sharing with the viewers ordinary moments of life (Documentary Photography) or compose photographic stories (Portraiture, Fashion Photography).
Our eyes are like tools, they enable us to see the hidden values and stories creating impressions and feeling which are not obvious at the beginning.
Have you ever wonder who the person in that picture is?

We Are Photographers! is a project based around the idea of the identity and the way we perceive others, as well as exploring the relationship between Photographer, Model and Viewer.

With this project I decided to create body of work which shows the other side of our job.
I have asked 5 great photographers to pose for me and for once to be on the other side of the camera. We are all unique but in the same time I wanted to create a series of images as neutral as possible. Therefore I've asked them not to show any feelings, like smiling or 'playing' with the camera.
It is a series of 5 color- passport style photographs, taken in the studio with a 5x4 view camera and a color negative film.

The pictures of 'We Are Photographers!' came from my observation of life and my fascination with other people's work.

This project is dedicated to my friends and fellow photographers, who are great inspiration to me.

Thank you all!
